BOALSBURG – A cross-country runner from St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy, in Boalsburg, received a prestigious award. Julia Cusatis was named the most inspiring Pennsylvania cross-country athlete. The award was presented by professional runner Neely Spence Gracey, who presented Cusatis with a bronze sneaker. The high school junior garnered the award for her positive attitude and her determination for continually defying the odds. CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — A 14-year-old boy who is accused of shooting and killing a 12-year-old girl late last month made an appearance in Clearfield County court on Friday. Aaron Klingensmith allegedly told state troopers that he pointed a gun at the girl and shot her on April 28th. Klingensmith also allegedly told investigators that he has an understanding of guns and gun safety. ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WJAC) — Two women killed in a crash Monday night in Allegheny Township have been identified. The Blair County coroner identified the women as 37-year-old Sabrina Fowler and 52-year-old Valerie Jenkins. The two were pronounced dead at the scene of thethree-car collision on I-99 at the 29.5-mile marker. Pittsburgh (WJAC) — The fairy tale has come to an end, at least for now. According to multiple reports, the Pittsburgh Pirates organization has reportedly released infielder Drew Maggi. Maggi's "inspirational" story began in the spring when he made his MLB debut on April 26th after spending 13 years in the minor leagues. The following day, Maggi made his first career big-league start against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Shoppers react to news of DuBois Kmart closure

DUBOIS - More than 100 Kmart and Sears stores across the nation are set to close this spring, including the Kmart store on Shaffer Road in DuBois. Sears Holdings will close 108 Kmart stores and 42 Sears stores over the next few months. The company noted that on Dec. 27, it had informed associates at 30 Kmart stores and 16 Sears stores that their stores would be closing.
