State officials give update on dam at High Point Lake

SOMERSET, Pa. - Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission addressed the current status of the dam atHigh Point Lake and said residents should remain on high alert. Officials said water is slowly draining from the dam and is expected to drop 12 to 15 feet in the next two weeks. Whipple Dam State Park reopens following dredging project

HUNTINGDON COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — In Huntingdon County, the Whipple Dam State Park is reopening following the completion of a dredging project. According to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the park reopened Friday after having been closed since September 2019. Officials say 40,000 cubic yards of sediment was removed from the lake bed. The department also repaved all the paved surfaces in the park and restored several fish habitat structures and turtle platforms. [Read More]

Cambria County Commissioners approve wage increases for new C.Y.S hires
