Shooting at Halloween attraction kills 1 teen, wounds 2nd

NORTH VERSAILLES, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say gunfire at a popular Halloween attraction in western Pennsylvania killed one teenager and critically wounded another - with another teenager being sought as a suspect. Allegheny County police said the shooting was reported at about 8:15 p.m. Saturday at the Haunted Hills Hayride in North Versailles. Three key factors led to riot at Cambria Co. Prison

CAMBRIA CO, Pa (WJAC) — According to Warden Christian Smith, preliminary investigation has determined that last Friday's riot at the Cambria County Prison was due to a combination of three factors. (1) The prison had been under a lockdown status for approximately one week due to COVID-19, which led tensions in that unit to be high. (2) The inmates were not satisfied with the meals they were receiving. Central Cambria school board approves 'reconfiguration' of elementary school grade levels

UPDATE |CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — The Central Cambria school board has voted to approve a plan to "reconfigure" the grade levels of the district's two elementary schools. Effective next school year, Jackson Elementary will remain open but will only consist of kindergarten through second grade students who reside in Jackson Township. Death penalty to be sought in officer's slaying

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Prosecutors have announced plans to seek the death penalty in the slaying of an off-duty Pittsburgh police officer shot to death in a street confrontation last month. The Allegheny County district attorney's office informed the court Monday of intent to seek capital punishment should 30-year-old Christian Bey be convicted of first-degree murder. Prosecutors also unsealed the homicide and firearms crimes criminal complaint against Bey in the July 14 shooting of 36-year-old Officer Calvin Hall during a street dispute in the Homewood neighborhood as a party was going on. Disney's 'Pocahontas' actor arrested in Ohio

XENIA, Ohio (WKEF) — The actor known as the voice of Pocahontas in the Disney film was reportedly charged with disorderly conduct in Ohio. The Xenia Police Department said 55-year-old Irene Bedard-Wilson, of Dayton, was arrested at 3:10 p.m. EDT on Friday at 29 E. Main St. after reports of two women arguing. Bedard-Wilson reportedly walked into the street, "without any regard for traffic." Police said they made contact with Bedard-Wilson and noticed an odor of alcohol on her breath. [Read More]

PITTSBURGH (AP) — According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly planning to sign free agent linebacker Patrick Queen. The 24-year-old was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 after playing collegiately at LSU, where he won a National Championship.
