Respiratory illness cases like Covid and the flu are on the rise across the state.
6 News spoke with a local RN who says this influx of viruses is typical for this time of the year.
“We are definitely seeing viruses, were seeing respiratory infections, flu, covid, a whole variety of illnesses,” said Colleen Stewart-Tretter, an RN at Highlands Health Clinic.
Stewart-Tretter says the increase of respiratory illnesses isn't just a health concern locally, but across the state of Pennsylvania.

Suspect with 'multiple prior law enforcement encounters' faces new drug, driving charges
SORRENTO, Fla. (TND) — It's almost as if the stars were aligned for the deputy who made this arrest.
First, he saw a car with “a large crack in the windshield.”Then, he reported seeing “the driver who I positively identified as Crystal Moon due to multiple prior law enforcement encounters.”And after she was arrested for a misdemeanor, he said she volunteered information that led to a few felonies.
The deputy made a traffic stop in a gas station parking lot last Wednesday, May 22, in Florida.

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (WPEC) — A Florida woman who was accused of defrauding people out of millions under the guise of her swimming pool company was found guilty, according to court officials. Indian River County court officials said Chrystal Washburn, the co-owner of Amoré Pools, was found guilty last week on 14 counts.
