Windber looking to become new home of 75-room hotel

WINDBER, Pa. - A hotel coming to Windber took a big step forward Tuesday. Borough manager Jim Furmanchik said a feasibility study conducted by Hospitality Marketers International came back extremely favorable. He said the study showed the borough could support a 75-room hotel. Furmanchik said representatives were impressed with the area’s Flood City Elite baseball fields and Iron House complex. Woman killed in Quemahoning Twp crash

QUEMAHONING TWP, Pa. (WJAC) — Update: State police say 61-year-old Denise Shaulis has died after her vehicle collided with a dump truck along Route 30 in Somerset County Wednesday. The crash happened near the intersection of Haines School Road after Shaulis' vehicle crossed over into the other lane, police say. Houtzdale home deemed 'a total loss', says fire chief

HOUTZDALE, Pa (WJAC) — UPDATE: According to the Houtzdale Fire Chief, the house fire that occurred earlier Saturday afternoon at 33 Wall Street has been deemed a "total loss." Thankfully, the two residents that were home at the time were able to get out safely.
