NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WJAR) — The Massachusetts man reported missing while on a trip to Puerto Rico was found dead on Friday, Telemundo Puerto Rico reported. The family of 28-year-old Alex DaLomba Tavares said he was reported missing Wednesday night. Tavares, of New Bedford, was in Puerto Rico with his girlfriend. Meyersdale, Central claim state baseball championships

UNIVERSITY PARK - Two local teams claimed state championships Thursday at Penn State University’s Medlar Field. Meyersdale defeated Clarion 2-0 in the PIAA Class A title game and Central triumphed over Holy Redeemer 8-3 in the Class AAA championship. For Meyersdale, winning pitcher Riley Christner struck out 12 batters for the Red Raiders, who finished the season 21-6. Meyersdale lost to Vincentian Academy in last year’s title game. According to a press release from the PA Turnpike Commission, Oct. 27 marks the start of cashless tolling in certain locations. The change will go into effect at the interchange in Lawrence County near the Ohio border and on PA Turnpike 66 in Westmoreland County.
