CANONSBURG -- The first of two days of funeral home visitation are set to begin for a western Pennsylvania police officer slain in the line of duty. Local group honors veterans by putting up banners in Blair County

The Tyrone Improvement Group was started in 2021 by local business owners and residents; on Saturday, they put up veterans’ banners throughout downtown to recognize those veterans from the area. The co-president of the group, Brian Igou, said that their volunteer numbers have continued to go up each year. On Memorial Day in 2016, officials say two local veterans noted a half-demolished building on main street that sat next to where memorial day events were held each year. The borough's chief of police Derek Stitt said some of the cameras can read license plates and check if the car is stolen or connected to any other outstanding warrants. JOHNSTOWN - The battle over the sale of a Johnstown building has come to an end as a judge ruled in favor of CamTran over Coal Tubin’. While CamTran Chairman Ed Cernic Jr. said he's happy with the ruling. But Coal Tubin's attorney, Wayne Langerholc, said his client is disappointed and plans to appeal the court's decision. One man dead after vehicle accident in Lycoming County

One man is dead after overturning his vehicle in Plunketts Creek Township, Lycoming County Sunday afternoon, state police said. According to a press release, Justin Laganowski, 23, was traveling south on State Route 87 when he lost control of his vehicle for an unknown reason. Woodward-area woman pleads 'no contest' in stabbing death of former boyfriend

Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities in Centre County say a Woodward-area woman pleaded "no contest" Friday afternoon in the stabbing death of her former boyfriend last April. Investigators say Brittany Guisewhite, 28, was accused of stabbing Robert Farwell during an argument at her home along Mountain Ave. Guisewhite made repeated claims of self-defense, as well as claims of PTSD and Battered Woman Syndrome.
